Not to be too picky, but hammering things into place can be a very bad idea.
Only do potentially expensive jobs when sure of competencies.
If the splines on the shaft haven't matched up to splines in the "the hole" properly then maybe something further in has moved, diff bearing? and that is going to cost a whole lot more. last drive shafts i did took about half an hour a side. How much is that from an indie?
And finally were they oem parts or cheapies from e-bay?
