If it is the 53 plate model,then it will not be fitted with a heater control valve.The heat is controlled by cable operated blend flap.Check the coolant level first.Low coolant means poor heating.

You need to check operation of the cable drive system.It is clipped into the side of the heater box and can sometimes become detached from the flap shaft/spindle.
