Ive had focus 05 plate for 6 month not one bit trouble with it it's got 118 k recently it's started to go into limp mode so far ivechanged fuel filter new rings on injectors egr cleaned turbo checked all is well with that thank god I've had it on a really good diagnostic and only real bad codes coming up are can or EEPROM could anything mechanical cause the ecu go crazy or would anybody know how much it would cost me to get new EEPROM or new memory as u can copy all your old problems to your new memory I've been told any help please I love this car it's done great cheers

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but could someone tell me what EEPROM is - presumably not a concert by the Huddersfield Choral Society.

Erasable programable read only memory.

Where the second E comes from is anybodies guess.

More than likely it is an EGR or turbo problem.

Turbo on its way out! check dpf,

I had a 55 plate 1.6tdci within 3 months of owning turbo went, long story -short ended up getting £1000 for a car i had only driven for 3 months and paid nearly £4000 for!

its aknow fault, apparently, but ford dont like to admit it.

Do a search on here, and Consumer action group you will find loads including my fight!

EEPROM = Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory.

These can be selectively erased, allowing them to be reprogrammed in-situ.

Unlike EPROM devices which have to be totally erased in one go, using ultra-violet light.
