VW PASSAT 1.9 TDI 2007 BXE ENGINE - EEOBD II P0726 / VAG 00802 - Used Cars Slough

Car was running fine. Replaced clutch. Could not start again. Engine runs with oil light flashing glow plug light flashing. And cuts out in 10 15 min and won't start again. If read gives P0726 and 00802 as fault code in EOBDII and VAG. Timing is correct. Crank sensor is replaced crank flange is also replaced. But still the same codes and same situation. Fault code reads engine speed input circut range performance. Need help what to do.

This code refers to the crankshaft speed sensor ( G28 )

When you say the the "crank flange" do you mean the rear crank oil seal ? If so, was this timed up when fitted ? The rear main contains the sender that the crank position ( speed ) sensor reads so if it's not correctly installed it'll give false readings leading to the error you have as it's a range/performance definition not an open/short circuit definition like you'll get if it's a wiring or sensor fault.

The other possibilities are a trapped wiring harness after box was fitted ( unlikely ), or poor shielding on the sensor/wiring harness which involves using an 'scope on the wiring to check for interference in the signal.

Best of luck and let us know how you get on.
