Can anyone explain why replacing a faulty fuel pump should affect the trip computer such that the "Miles left in the tank" function now does not work, whereas all other functions do? I'd be graeful for any words of wisdom. Thank you

The "miles left in tank" is calculated by dividing the fuel elft by an average MPG. If teh fuel tank sensder has been dislodged and not replaced.. it will not work properly.

The fuel tank sensor was indeed removed when expecting to find the fuel pump in the tank, but replaced when the fuel pump was not found. It is apparently partway along the fuel line on my model. however, the fuel gauge works correctly and all other functions of the trip computer but not the miles left in the tank. Renault themselves seem to have no answer. Anyone else with any ideas building on the above reply?

There is only one level sensor that supplies info to the fuel gauge and trip unit.Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 10 mins ?This may reset the system. If the fuel gauge is reading correctly ,then the level sensor in the tank is ok.

Thanks for this message. I understand the garage did try this although I'm not sure how as the radio display does not light up any more and it would be needed to reset the radio code after a battery disconnect, would it not?? The Radio still works!

(Sorry to be so late in replying to this, but had a problem with a 94 yr old cousin who had a fall and neded a replacement hip replaced!!)
