Engine makes a vibration noise every few seconds when idling, could this be the end of the DMF?

Try depressing the clutch, that tends to hold the DMF together, if it still does it you have a different problem. Sounds like some sort of resonance on the video.

I have just had th heat shields from the underside fall off onto the exhaust of my 2004 2.2 Estate. The fitting kit coroded and the extra burden caused the whole thing to shift.

Sounded like the exhaust had developed a massive problem or worse. It is silly but take it for a free exhaust check first.
