I too would stick with Toyota, though doubtful i would bother staying in the MD network with any other car make @ 5 years except Kia for the 7 year warranty if applicable.
The reasons for staying with Toyota are as Ea/cD mentions, part quality, plus general Toyota workshop and dealer standards of work, plus the costs are very fair.
Mainly though because Toyota have an established and well earned reputation of standing by their product and their customers, if something fails on your car that really shouldn't have you have a decent chance of Toyota picking up the tab under goodwill, especially if the car has a full SH with them.
Loyalty does work both ways with this maker, some other, especially German makers, could learn much from them.
Now Toyota, hows about unceremoniously dumping that stupid electric parking brake you let the work experience kid talk you into fitting on current Avensis, so i can buy one..:-)
