Toyota Auris and Auris HSD - selecting a Service dealer non-franchised VS Franc - Oldjoe

Having serviced our Auris v v t mm1.6, with the extremely rare low mileage of 23,500 in 5yrs, we have great difficulty in choosing between the garages undertaking Intermediate service based on costs.Staring with Kwik Fit £79 to Toyota themselves at £129 (Fixed Price ? )

In between Halford's is at £107.

What the indicators by which to trust who, which and the reasoning.PLEASE Help

I would stick with main dealer at £129,at least you are going to get original quality parts and not the low rent bits the others would use.hth

Toyota main dealer every time, think of your warrany, even for problems later you have a chance with toyota!

I too would stick with Toyota, though doubtful i would bother staying in the MD network with any other car make @ 5 years except Kia for the 7 year warranty if applicable.

The reasons for staying with Toyota are as Ea/cD mentions, part quality, plus general Toyota workshop and dealer standards of work, plus the costs are very fair.

Mainly though because Toyota have an established and well earned reputation of standing by their product and their customers, if something fails on your car that really shouldn't have you have a decent chance of Toyota picking up the tab under goodwill, especially if the car has a full SH with them.

Loyalty does work both ways with this maker, some other, especially German makers, could learn much from them.

Now Toyota, hows about unceremoniously dumping that stupid electric parking brake you let the work experience kid talk you into fitting on current Avensis, so i can buy one..:-)

According to Toyota the fixed price for the Hybrid service is £139

For piece of mind and long term goodwill I would choose the Official Toyota dealer. This could also influence value when selling in the future.

Another vote for Toyota, I found the Main Dealer here reasonable in price and exemplary in customer service. Toyota service does give a feeling of confidence everything has been done properly.

Shoot me down, but I wouldn't take a car to Kwik-Fit of Halfords full stop. I dare bet that if you did they would find some other work that required doing on your car...
