I had a lengthy chat with a private hire taxi driver last night, he does around 50K miles per year and had just sold his 09-plate Octavia 115bhp diesel with DSG.
He sold it with 230,000 on the clock, having bought it with 60K up, and run it for three years. In that time, he'd replaced the DMF twice (he was getting around 80K per flywheel) but apart from that, had only replaced service items and consumables.
He's now running a Seat Exeo estate, and has done around 30K in it.
Interestingly, he never had a DPF problem in the Skoda, and has had no DPF troubles in the Seat either -- I would guess because the car is used fully warmed up for extended periods, giving regenerations plenty of time to finish properly.
