Peugeot 207 - What should I do, - Lastidiot

Hi, just over 3 months ago I bought a Peugeot 207 1.6 110, 06 plate, 57000 miles for £3600, about 3 weeks after it started coming up with a warning depollution system faulty took it back to the dealers he checked it, and told me it was the DPF and just needed some additive and a good blast, which it got but still coming up with the fault asked him if he was willing to repair it and said no.

Now when coming back from work the car suffered a sudden loss of power and makes a noise over 2000rpm, so instead of take it back too the dealer I took it to a pug garage to find out what's really going on, after a diagnostic check they say the ecu has 4 fualts (2 sensors, cold coils and a fault with the drive shaft) and that the turbos gone which would cost nearly 2000 alone to fix..

So it's well and truly goosed and I don't know what to do and don't what to continue to pay finance for something I can't use..

Any advice any can give would be awesome.. :D

Hi ,
As always there are two issues in circumstances similar to your own .

First what consumer law says your entitled to , and second getting the dealer to fulfil his obligations .

Your clearly entitled to have the dealer pay for the repairs to your car ,you should write to the dealer telling him that you will give him two weeks to repair your car ,if he doesn't you will have the car repaired and pursue a case against him in the small claims court .What you have to consider is ,will he have the money to pay you ,when you win the case against him ,if your not sure you will waste the cost of a court case ,generally in the region of £300 .

In addition you say you financed the car ,if you used a credit card for the deposit or used a car loan to buy it ,you should contact them ,they are responsible for the quality of the goods they finance .

Finally ,you say your quoted £2000 to fix the turbo ,that's ridiculous ,I've bought reconditioned turbos from a firm in Darlington for £350 ,fitting is about £150 .Check e bay or online for similar prices .

Please let the forum know the outcome ,so others can benefit from your experience .
