Nissan XTriail Aventurs - Tyre specification - JAlan

XTrail tyres , presently fitted with 215/60 R17 96VMS Pirelli Scorpios. Local tyre dealer now advises that these have been replaced by Pirelli Scorpio Verde. Inputting car regn number into Bluecircle, they advise 225/55R17 W97 for my vehicle. What is the difference? Would you recommend the Verde or any other tyre. The car is used for occasional towing of caravan, occasional off road use as it carries a gundog so rough and muddy tracks. Also used for business, so some motorway use.

Standard summer tyres will fit all your needs apart from the off-road - the better tyre manufacturers' websites give advice based on % on:off road.

You need to find out the tyre size originally fitted as changing size has insurance implications.

Continental, Pirelli and Michelin are obvious contenders - personally I intend to use Vredestein Quatrac 3 for my Santa Fe used in similar terrains.

215/60 R17 Dunlop M&S were the originals on my 2007 X-trail Aventura (IIRC)

I got 30K out of the fronts, the backs were almost unmarked
