Battery dead, cant access car with keys (dont fit locks) is it possible to access the bonnet from outside the car in order to charge battery ?!

Afraid I can't help with your problem, but I'm intrigued. If your keys don't fit the door locks, they won't fit the ignition. There seems no point in charging the battery of a car you won't be able to start. Or am I missing something?

In which case, he'll still have the old key that fits the doors. They must have been locked at some point. Unless he locked them with the wireless remote, before the battery went dead - but is it even possible that you could program a new key that doesn't fit the door lock with the correct code? And what happened to the old keys? (When I had a 306 I got three keys.)

Our car is a Berlingo which shares chassis and running gear with 306. Provided there was no undertray that might just be possible though it might be difficult to connect a croc clip to the terminal without undue proximity to earthed metal.

Put the clip on first before you connect the other end to the power supply.

I think all 306's have a sumpguard (mine did) but that's no problem as it is intended to be removed from underneath. However its fixing screws have a habit of seizing ...
