My sister needs a largish estate car to replace her ageing Galaxy. Youngest daughter will be 17 in the summer and will need to drive. Additionally the vehicle needs to be able to transport 2 large dogs. Ideally diesel new and bought on PCP at £175-£225 per month with the old Galaxy (£1500?) as deposit. All thoughts appreciated.

Dacia Logan MCV 1.2

Expected to start on band 3 for insurance.

Will be cheap to buy, run and insure.

Yes it is a possibility but it's one ugly awkward looking vehicle! Went with her today to look at a new Seat Toledo which is a lovely driving car in 1.2Tsi form

Thanks and yes most competitive. Current No1 is a Skoda Yeti 1.2Tsi that comes in very competively. Nice car too with loads of room and a small overall 'footprint'.

The Yeti looks like a good idea, and has comemout very well in the latest JD Power suirvey. Just make sure that it isn't too high for the dogs to get in and out.
