Only r134a can be used in these.There should be a sticker on the front slam panel to advise quantity.

Automotive air con systems moved over to R134a in the early to mid '90s. Sorry can't remember the exact cut off.

There should be a sticker under the bonnet to tell you this along with the quantity required. It will, however, be R134a.
