On my Fiesta ('06) you set the keycode by pressing the station pre-set buttons, one to four, to set the code, and then button 5 to enter, or on the more expensive job, it's the AM/FM button to enter. This probably won't help you as yours is bound to be totally different. What do people do with the handbooks? Good tip, find an old couple with a similar car on the supermarket car-park. They're bound to have the handbook in the glove-box!
