If you did have to change the pump and sourced a genuine Kia/Hyundai part I do not see this invalidating any warranty.
If service work is carried out by anyone other than Kia or a VAT registered garage then its goodbye warranty. If you DIY on any car under warranty you will loose it if you try to claim for a failure on a part affected by your DIY.
Only Kia dealers can carry out warranty repairs.
The above applies to all brands and is covered under the Block Exemption rules.
Why would anyone with a virtually new Kia with the remainder of the 7 year warranty want to risk that by saving a few quid. Some muppets pay £100's for aftermarket warranties that cover nothing, at least the Kia one appears to cover virtually every eventuality providing you keep your side of the deal.
