So there I was driving along listening to my CD when the CD Player and Centre Display which shows the time, radio, Blowers etc when off....

The only life I can get from the Control Panel which is the middle of the two is the rear heater ... all other controls are dead... and the CD player wont eject the disk...

The heater is stuck on hot blowing and the only way to turn it off is to take the fuses out

I got an expert car electrical guy out and he say the units all have power going to them.

So I assumed it was all to do with the main display or to give it the correct part name: DISPLAY ASSY-AV so off to EBay I went and bought another one....installed it today and still nothing...

I really do not want to take it to a dealer as Im told that will cost me a fortune.

PLEASE help!

Hi

You say taking it to a dealer will cost a fortune but how much will you spend just throwing parts at it ?

Why don't you get a price from the dealer to check it then you will know where you are.

If you have navigation and a DVD drive in the dashboard, it is likely to be the DVD drive. It converts the 12 Volts to the 5 Volts and 3.3 Volts required to run the electronics.

Have a read here - Primera owners club. The electronics are common across the Nissan models of the same age.

I took my car to the dealer today and he thinks its the AV Receiver Unit (I think thats what he called it) anyway its the unit that is located under the CD Player but behind the dash.

He used the hand held device to check the car while I was there and said it wasnt even picking it up! So now im waitng by the phone for a price.
