ford fiesta - Ford Fiesta - Gearbox - youngimp

Hi, iv got got a ford fiesta 1.25 W Reg and recently the car has struggled a few times trying to go into 3rd gear from 4th when having to slow down.

It dont go into 3rd so i have to release clutch and do it again but its like its trying to go through sludge when doing this but eventully it does and it carries on fine

what could be causing this?

Is it just refusing to go in or does it grate? Does reverse engage OK?

Reverse is fine and it refuses to go in 1st then goes in after but very slugish, does not grind
