VW Golf TDi Mk4 - Convenience unit - mark95

I have no working electric windows, the fuses are all okay.

I have been told that the "convenience unit" has blown , i believe that its attatched to the vehicle's ecu.

Does it just plug in, do i have to have the ECU reprogrammed after it's been replaced?

Do i need to remove all of the dashboard in order to get to it?

Many thanks

The convenience unit is located behind the cabin fusebox. It is attached to a bracket by 2 screws.Access is from under the dash, drivers side.It is not coded or programmed.Do the interior/roof lights work?

I would re-check the fuses before changing the control unit. You may have to remove the fuses one by one to check them properly.hth

Thanks for all your advice. I dont know if it's relevant. But although the car is right hand drive it originated from Holland.

Will the unit still be where you said?
