Many people aren't happy that Obama was re-elected and are looking for ways to punish those who voted for him. Whether they're just being babies remains to be seen, but one Colorado property owner is promising an Obama-voters-rent increase. Article source: Obama voters rent hike vowed by Colorado landlord
Anybody who did not get their way in the election is upset that Obama was re-elected. Though Romney graciously admitted defeat, people are not pleased about this. It is almost like a sports game when people get really mad that their team lost, so there are a ton of hurt feelings.
However, numerous people are still very mad about it. Granted, one could point out that most of a president's obligations are to make speeches and pass laws that Congress actually creates, but this being America, that type of thing involves logic and learning, which are viewed suspiciously.
Among other backlashes, a Colorado property owner is promising an Obama-voters-rent increase, according to the Huffington Post.
High cost of rent
John Obringer in Colorado said that he will be boosting rent rates for Obama voters even though Jimmy McMillan said rent is already way too much. Obringer wrote a letter to renters explained that Obama’s plans are really hard on smaller businesses such as his and adversely impact cash flow.
He believes that renters who voted for Obama should get what they voted for, so he wants to increase their costs before everybody else. Due to the election, he will end up needing to increase costs for everybody, but renters who voted for Obama should go first, he believes.
He told renters he would be reducing office hours to two days a week and does not mention exactly how much he will be boosting rent. Tenants are not quite sure if he is serious or not because that is just his personality.
Other cases of backlash
There have been other cases of backlash from Republicans angered that Obama was put back into office. This includes a gun store in Pinetop, Arizona that printed an ad in the local paper informing citizens that they were not wanted in their store if they voted for Obama. The store, called Southwest Shooting Authority, was definitely upset about the election, according to the New York Daily News.
A Denny’s restaurant owner who was mad about the increased costs of business because of Obamacare promised a 5 percent “Obamacare surcharge” to every bill, according to Slate. Then there is the CEO of Papa John’s, John Schnatter, who said the cost of “Obamacare” will lead to an extra 11 to 14 cents being added to pizzas to cover the extra costs.
