My wife's Punto is an 07 reg, and the boot lock will not operate by either the dashboard button or the key fob. There is no key acess from outside so the local Fiat dealer has advised that it will probably require a new unit which will cost £88 incl. parts, labour and VAT. That seems very expensive so are there any suppliers who will sell a new lock that I can get fitted by our local garage or can the existing unit be refurbished ?. I have recently replaced the battery in the key fob but to no avail.

At the moment we can only acess the boot by dropping the back seats.

Your advice would be much appreciated.
