Hi,

I have spent over a thousand pounds on trying to rectify this problem.

My Zafira won't start if left for 2 days sometime only 1 day.

Had loads of things changed but none of them have solved the problem.

RAC have said that it is the fuel draining from the starter system.

One guy told me to get a handpump fitted to the fuel line to get fuel into the starter system when it happens. This sounded a bit odd to me but I'm willing to give it a go.

If I start it every morning and evening it starts fine and runs fine; but some times I don't and then it won't start.

Any ideas?

Is this petrol or diesel?

it's diesel.

had new plugs, new battery, new starter motor new seals...

is the handpump the way to go, 'cos as soon as the fuel gets there it starts fine and then runs fine?

Could well be but you must have a leak somewhere allowing air into the fuel system. If you can park it for a while on a steep downward slope the air leak should show up as a fuel leak. Is it a common rail engine?
