Vauxhall Corsa CDTI 1300 55 Plate - Fuel Injector Pump - h4ppy
Hi

I have to buy a diesel fuel injector pump for my Corsa Cdti 1300 55 plateand the old part has been taken off by the mechanic and the part number is worn off. I need to know if it is a Bosch or a Siemans. Would anyone know ?

Also was told if has 6 diesel fuel injectors, I thought that there is only one ?

Thanks

You have as many injectors as cylinders. Have a look on your injectors they will probably be the same make as the pump.

Does it look like this one? : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-ASTRA-CORSA-1-7-CDTI-DIESEL-FUEL-INJECTION-PUMP-0445010086-/221210338661?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item338129e565

Hi, I will need to take a look and not near the car as it is off the road. I don't think it does but I ain't certain. I know nothing about cars and to top it all I'm a woman lol....learning though.

So if there are 6 cylinders will the diesel fuel injector I buy, which is re-conditioned come with all 6 or do I need to buy 6 ?

Thanks

I think you have a common rail engine in whch case the pump is irrelavent to the number of injectors, it just keeps a a rail fed with hight pressure fuel to which any number of injectors can be connected, I believe yours has a four cylinder engine so will have four injectors. Are they saying that you need injectors as well? What is the actual problem with the car?

this is what happened, I had fuelled the car and within 17 miles the fuel needle had moved dramatically and then the car was filled with grey smoke. I panicked got out and removed the key and the engine was revving away with no key in it.

They replaced some seals thinking that was the problem and then found the diesel fuel injector pump was leaking/dripping and yes I think you are correct that there are 4.

Once this is replaced will they need to hook it up to the 'ecr' computer to reprogramme it(not certain that is the correct acronym).Should Ivexpect more problems.

Thank you

Thats an odd one. I assume the engine eventually stopped by itself. engine runaway is generally caused by fuel/oil entering the system other than by the correct route, possibly because the turbo seals have failed but as they haven't mentioned that I assume its not so.the other reason is that the engine is very worn but I wouldn't think that would be the case either, those problems usuallly give blue smoke and can end up destroying the engine so I am at a loss with your problem.

Reading the fault codes is a neccessity with modern cars as they are electronically controlled, the only advantage being is that it usually tells you what the fault is/was, that would be the ECU they would be reading.

You could try looking up a dedicated Vauxhall forum but other than that you are going to have to rely on your garage I'm afraid.

Hi Peter

I'm here again I now have another question as 2 mechanics are saying 2 different things.

One is saying it is the fuel injector pump and the other is saying it is leaking from these pipe things which I can see. I am lost as to what the part is called any help would be welcomed.

Very difficult to diagnose from a distance, you would be better going to a diesel specialist but I suppose its a bit late for that now.

If you post your pictures on one of the upload sites, then copy the address from the top of the picture you should be able to post the link on here.
