Hi,
I am hoping someone can shed a light on possible solutions to this:
W reg ford fiesta 1.3.
Runs perfectly when started cold, no odd engine sounds, nothing to worry about.
If I stop the engine then 50% of the time it won't restart. The engine fires and turns over a few times and then slowly dies over 2-8 seconds. The next time I try to start it it turns over a little bit less. The engine is firing - my gut instint is that there is no fuel getting to the engine, that is what it sounds like to me.
If I leave the car for some time (normally 1 hour+) it restarts perfectly.
Things that have been tried:
1. Fuel relay - not sure what this is, but it was changed!
2. cut off - this doesn't seem likely as the engine still fires and I believe this would also cut off the current to the spark plugs?
3. Battery - checked and seems ok. Tried starting car during *won't start* time using jump leads to check. Still wouldn't start
Can anyone suggest anything?
Many thanks for your time,
Morsey
