Hormann Promatic - Powered opening garage door question please. - Pauline10

Hello.

Given the wide reach of this webite and forum, could I please ask ----

Does anyone here have fitted on their garage door or have any experience of,

the Hormann Promatic AKKU ( Battery operated ) operating system ?

I am considering one of these or something similar and would welcome

feedback from anyone with first hand experience of the unit.

Thank you, Pauline10

We have a double-garage up and over door which we had converted to a power system about 9 years ago, touch wood, it works well.

This is powered by a mains unit bolted to the roof joists which pulls the door open by a roller chain; there is a pocket sized remote control which is labelled 'Hormann' but I don't know the exact model spec of the installation.

I can't imagine an installation powered solely by a battery would be practicable, the battery would need recharging fairly often.

I have no personal experience of this but it does look interesting, especially with the solar charger.

Haven't got experience of this door opener.

Garador (a UK based garage door manufacturer) is part of the Hormann group. Our garage is separate to the house and we recently renewed our door for a Hormann - which is identical (apart from the label) to Garador doors fitted to the garages of our neighbours.

Just wondered whether Garador have the same door opener, possibly at a cheaper price.

I think you must all be quite mad, or extremely lazy.

Our garage door is an up-and-over one piece steel unit, 6ft 8in high, 14ft 6in wide (double garage), opening it manually was good exercise for me but a bit too much for SWMBO.

Using the remote from the car means we don't get wet when its raining. All things considered we think it was worth converting to powered opening. You are entitled to your opinion, of course. :-)

extremely lazy it is then.

Well, it was cheaper than employing a butler/footman. :-)

Not sure in this case.

Our garage is separate to the house and we recently renewed our door for a Hormann, The erotic dresses online felt good against the skin and were comfortable.

I must say that, considering it's spam, this post has a surreal quality which made me laugh.

Some poor b****** actually typed this? Must be desperate.

Maybe they modified things so the Hormann remote lifted erotic dresses up?
