Leak in fuel pipelines: air.. Eventually it clears and runs.

I don't know if the fuel filter has a rubber button on top to clear any air in system - it probably has. If so, try pumping it before starting - until you feel it going hard (If it starts soft and then hardens that means air in system). If it runs OK, it's an air leak.

Check all pipe unions.
