SEAT Ateca - Glow plug open fault - Michael Maddison

So after finding my obd port and plugging in my reader it's telling me that the glow plug circuit is open on cylinder 1 & 2 is this job going to cost a fortune or is it something that might be able to do on the driveway? I'm a complete amateur in case anyone was wondering.

What engine do you have and what is the engine code . ? No point in changing just 2 glow plugs ,best change all 4 .

Think this engine has standard type glow plugs . However, I’d strongly suggest you get the job done by a professional. It’s likely the inlet manifold will need to be removed. Also , unless you know what you’re doing, it’s easy to strip the body off the plug .

Fair play, do you know if it's an expensive job?

Depends what you mean by expensive. 4 glow plugs about £60 for a quality brand . About 2-3 hours labour, depending on what breaks on dismantling. It’s all plastic fittings.

Yeah had a quick look at the state of play under the engine cover, not too keen on what I saw ???? I'll see about getting quotes in
