My daughter has a 2014 Ford KA and recently had a new clutch fitted locally, they then called and said it was struggling to get into 2nd gear. They said a new gear cable was needed. It was there for a few days and they said they were struggling to do it. My daughter then picked the car up and they weren't charged for that- so mustnt have been done and wasn't charged.

Going to take elsewhere now but wonder if you agree it is likely gear cable?

I took it for a drove today and the only issue was going from 1st to 2nd gear, didn't happen everything but when it did couldn't get it in gear and grinding noise - moving back to first or third again would normally then allow ot to move into 2nd with no issue.

She has already paid £500 so we would appreciate any info.
