There are 10-15 of them (seems to go up and down) doing the rounds at Manheim auctions in various states of decay if anyone fancies a punt!

Have to be seriously cheap, less than 10k a pop. List price was 50k plus

But...No parts, no dealers backup etc.

For the right punter an absolute steal. 440m range well equipped, decent design. If they'd got the bugs ironed out it'd be a good vehicle.

Quite tempting actually. A lot of very nice car for not much money if you know someone who can repair EVs.

Apparently now all removed and will be auctioned.

Personally will offer £5.00

But if it needs a part, even a relatively innocuous part, I’m thinking lights and wiper blades, then what do you do?, no, I haven’t checked online to see if parts are available, but just wondering, if, say, you bought a car very cheap, then the light cluster failed ( I’m assuming it’s led lighting) then the car would be illegal to drive…

Think even consumables like brake pads might be a problem. Although being an EV they should be good for a few years. But a great bargain at the right price for somebody who likes a gamble.

They were made in the same factory as Jaguar ipaces, so I suspect (but don't know) that there was some commonality of parts. If not, it's very unlikely that the factory was making every component, so they can be tracked down eventually. .I'd be more worried about body panels, trim and upholstery.

I think the best VFM for used 'keeper car' buyers like myself is buying the best possible version of a model made in large quantities for many years. I do not think there will be any difficulty getting parts for my nearly 20yr old Audi A8; likewise for Mrs F's 2013-2019 Peugeot 2008. A recent repair to its wing mirror might have cost over £500 if I had not been able to source a used one for £80 and fit it myself. The offending pheasant was not resuscitatable.

When these first started doing the rounds at auction they were getting bids but the liquidator seems to have been in cloud cuckoo land on value and wouldn't let them go. The end result is none of them have sold and they still won't be realistic about what they are worth.

Proves the old adage that your best bid is often the first bid you get. In the case of these cars I suspect the dealer was tired of storing them on behalf of a liquidator or finance house who wouldn't pay for storage or collect them and just lost patience.
