peugot 2008 2015 37000 miles - Passenger seat(s) missing at time of test all rear - Orb>>.

Friend just bought a Pug 2008 and on the MOT for the past 4 years there has been an advisory as below. Any Ideas?

The selling Garage have sorted everything for him and it has a clean MOt no advisories except for a cut in a tyre, which they replaced with a new tyre.

Paid £5995 and not bad when I looked it over, but got a 1 year warranty ???? What that is worth I do not know.

Sounds like it’s been used as some sort of workhorse. What engine’s in btw?

1.2 puretech, unbelievably with 8 years of peugot dealer history.

Have told him to get belt checked.

I’d have the belt done without delay, unless there’s proof it’s been done already. Shame about the wet belt design, I really quite like these otherwise. They’re very comfy, decently practical and the wee 3cyl motor has a bit of character. Even the non-turbocharged version is nippy enough for me. Wouldn’t put my own money into one, though I do have a friend with a 2014 (I think) example that’s been utterly neglected and abused over its 100,000 plus miles. Haven’t spoken to him for a while so no idea if it’s still going or in the bin. He never services his cars, no chance it’s had a belt change. Last time I was in it it wasn’t sounding or looking too healthy, b***** minging inside.

I guess the previous owner removed the rear seat(s) to make more space - and then replaced them for trade-in

Back in 1990 when I was building a kit car I trailered the car to a local garage to thoroughly check it over before all the final bells and whistles had been done - including at the time no windscreen, side windows or washer/wipers. It came out with a clean bill of health and I was told it would also even pass an MOT as it was, which it did, because as the windscreen wasn't present washers / wipers weren't required. Obviously times have changed, but however....
