Hi - can anyone help please - I've had my car in the local garage twice for this and they can't find the cause of my high pitched intermittent rotational sound...(Peugeot 3008, 1.2 petrol, manual, 17 plate)
My first guess was brakes - but they have 50% left...
The annoying thing is when I start driving my car from cold - the noise isn't there - takes around 10 mins of driving to become apparent - so when garage took it for drive - they couldn't replicate the noise... but I've had the noise for a few weeks now..
The noise is only apparent when going slow (10-20 mph)
I had the same issue about 3 or 4 weeks after having new front discs and pads fitted at the main dealer.
Went back and told 'no fault found'
After another month the brakes were grabbing as if the discs were warped, again denied saying the uneven braking was the rears.
A roller test printout from a different garage and a polite email to the service manager resulted in free replacement discs. (for the avoidance of doubt, I do not sit with the brakes on after stops from high speed or long descents, so not warpage due to that)
