I have an old VW 2005 Passat estate and I want to update the stereo so we can all connect our android and apple phones.

It's a radio and separate cd which I understand is double din and when I looked the cost of a decent replacement plus fitting was a few hundred

I'm quite happy to have a portable touch screen car player so no fitting. I saw one with very good reviews on Amazon for only £43 so ordered it yesterday and it arrived today

Looked great but when I went to my plug I to cigarette light power adaptor it was too big to fit. I may have been able to force it in but didn't fancy breaking anything. Anyway it's on its way back lol

Anyone recommend and decent portable player with Bluetooth/android auto/airplay ?

I'd agree with that. Plus you can get all the proper surrounds and additional steering column controls.

Have a look on CARAUDIODIRECT or DYNAMICSOUNDS, their advice is excellent and prices are good too.
