I can't work out which truck it is based on, but I expect BBD will enjoy this.

Japanese mini camper in the snow - edlithgow

Suzuki Carry

I had a similar demountable Romahome on a (much older, of course) Honda Acty TN550 that I lived in in London for a while.

Compact and bijou, like the Japanese girl in the video but unlike me.

The body extended down over the back in a galley bit with a sink one side, cooker the other, where even I got standing headroom, so very space efficient. No woodstove though..

Perhaps my best wehicle

I love the normal glass window in the back! Surely that wouldn't be road legal in the UK would it?

yeah, as Ed says, Suzuki Carry. I'm surprised that particular model was chosen though. Kei trucks (as with Kei cars) have to fit within a set of criteria, which includes a maximum vehicle length of 3.4 meters. Choosing the Carry with a (admittedly short) bonnet means the load bay has to be shorter by the length of that bonnet compared to a Kei truck with a completely flat front. Granted the young lady wasn't very tall, but even so, maximising the amount of "living space" would seem logical.

Can't have that on a JDM Kei truck camper because of the length restriction. But I do wonder if some kind of extending bodywork would be legal in Japan?. Can't see any reason why not as the truck would fit within the legal dimensions while bing driven on the road or parked the street. The payload may also be a factor (this is a maximum of 350kg), which would restrict what you could do. But maybe something similar to a trailer tent could be mounted on the back?.

Here is a Carry on Ebay the same as is used in the video
