How sad, thanks for that ORB, by all accounts he was a good man, done a awful lot for the company. Rip...

Happy little cars for the most part, I have much fondness for Suzuki's.

Loved the SC100 "Whizzkid", which I discovered in the Observers Book of Cars got for Christmas circa 1980. Also a huge fan of the Suzuki Carry/Bedford Rascal, and its predecessor, the ST90, one of which I owned for a while. And while the AGS automated in ours frustrated, the Ignis is a truly spectacular feat of packaging making, an absolute nonsense of most other small cars, both of its size (Toyota Aygo X step forward) and up to quite a bit bigger. So glad too that the new Swift hasn't grown any bigger

As a Radio 1 listener back in the late 90's, I always found amusement in Mark Radcliff's "Fat Harry White" character (a sort of greater Manchester version of Barry White) talking about his Bedford Rascal convertible!.

And who could forget(!) this little musical nugget (YT link)

I'm in respect of this man - I met him at Suzuki UK when I was a Suzuki dealer tech on a service course at Suzuki UK Crawley in the 90's.

A very humble ordinary guy, no airs or graces, he spoke a very little english and was very pleased to meet me as a tech representative of the Suzuki dealer network.

Think thats perhaps a Japanese cultural style thing.

I once gate crashed (infiltrated might be a better term) a JAL bash (many air hostess sans!) at Westminster Boating Centre where I'd been kayaking, but eventually felt a bit de trop/ innapropriately dressed and made to leave. Very senior JAL guy, who was I suppose, the host, seemed quite upset and pretty much begged me not to go.
