SsangYong Korando 2021 - 3 year update - Orb>>.

So, After 3 years, would I buy another??

The answer would be yes.. subject to having a dealer less than 60 miles away, ( Prestons in Chelmsford were 20 0dd miles but now have nothing to do with Ssangyong ) but saying that have not needed for anything other than routine servicing and a recall, with the exception of a coil pack failure just after I bought it and a recall for a steering bracket check. Servicing in Wymondham now.

Seats as comfortables as ever and fuel economy although not brilliant locally is acceptable on a longer trip. 2 new tyres this summer as inner sides getting well worn.

How would you value it now at 3 years old?

Therein lies the problem. Much as it’s a perfectly decent motor, the catastrophic depreciation will mean that it’s actually cost more than a more expensive and more modern mainstream model. That’s the problem with most budget brands. But as a used buy for someone who’s willing to keep it until there’s a holy water feature in the footwells then it makes much sense. But it takes someone to take the value out of it first.

I do like the look of the Korando but three years in is where you find out if it was a good buy. So if you'd buy another it's a good sign.

I've had my Mokka-e three years. Would I buy another. Maybe. Technology has moved on and I'd probably buy something with more range. Which wasnt really around back then at my budget. MG4 hadn't launched etc.

The Mokka-e has been flawless and done everything I've needed but a real world range of 185m is for me just about adequate, three hundred would be better. That said its been comfy, well equipped nice to drive etc. There's far more public chargers around now, not that I've needed many. The boot has been fine for my Foxhound Cross 42kg. He's passed on now and I now have a Bitsa he's 26kg so plenty of room. So yeah buy it again? A solid maybe.

Quite a nice looking car ORB, both inside and out. I wouldn't expect the economy to be brilliant, on that size of car.

What mileage have you done?

2 new tyres this summer as inner sides getting well worn.

I'd suggest that could be worn suspension bushes, or a little more toe-in required.

Glad it's still going OK, bit surprised about the tyre wear though?

Unless I'm mistaken you've had it over three years, thought you had it before I got got the Vitara and that got traded last Sept at 3 years old not that it really matters...

A neighbour has a Korando - and being an ex-traffic cop, regular checks his vehicles but even he got caught out with exceesive tyre wear on the inside edges - down to the cords when it was MoT'd - so maybe there is a common theme.

Maybe caused by straddling speed humps?

Tyres were actuall near to limit on the insides, could have gone on a bit longer, but got them done at the same time as the first MOT which was a bit early anyway.

Car was a pre-reg late sept 2021 and i bought it mid nov 2021.

Cost me £20 400 ish about £5000 off list. in the summer when I looked at the Vitara, WBAC were offering £11.000 ish.

Yep, it's the trade in offers that lower the prices. Buy on Cinch £13000 with more miles, and not full dealer service history, I have just done about 21.ooo miles.

For the tyre wear, quite wide tyres 235/55/18s.

More info please. Initial cost? Mileage? When serviced and costs? Overall mpg? (not just the artificially good mpg on long journeys). Any advisories on its first MoT? Did it have to have new tyres this summer or is it getting them next year's summer? (last sentence ambiguous).

Initial cost was £20,400

Mileage today 20953, when bought 40.

MPG locally Dire to those running Hybrids, leccys and lightweight cars, but generally averaging 28ish, no exact figures as I don't actually care that much.

As above the inners on the front were getting low and it was advised to note for the future, but as I was due to get the MOT and do a longish trip it was my choice.

If i have lost a couple of quids worth of rubber, It's my life should i suddenly find myself in a situation where some extra mms of rubber could prevent me from "losing it".

Servicing costs are dealer rates and happy to pay them to maintain the warranty.
