Do you have a budget in mind? If you just want loads of toys and have normal amounts of money, buy a Kia Sportage.

Or a Vitara AWD

If you need a 4x4 that works in mud and snow buy a Dacia Duster 1.5 dci 4x4.

According to Wickipedia "It now (2nd Generation, introduced 2017) features an electric power steering,[77] a MultiView camera system consisting of four cameras, blind spot warning system, automatic climate control, keyless entry and ignition system,[78][79] and daytime running lights.[75"

So not exactly "nothing that you dont" (that hasn't been allowed for a VERY long time), but probably still not enough for the OP

Lots of fancy toys is exactly what I wouldn't want, especially in a 4X4, but I have to confess to rather covetting a Bertone Freeclimber (despite its BMW engine) that used to be on campus here. Never seen another and its probably sc***ped now.

Incidentally I recently learned that to fit new parking brake shoes on a Wrangler 4 you have to take the rear axle off and replace the main bearings.

Barely credible but apparently true

I've considered Wranglers which sometimes come up fairly cheap in Taiwan, have a Lego-like simplicity attributed to them, and as US imports have the advantage that their engine number isn't officially recorded, allowing engine swaps.

But I cant get my head around that.
