Renault Clio S Edition 1.0 TCe CVT 2020 - Front Radar malfunction and other alarms - Amit Bannerji

Good morning,

We've got the above car from Renault Retail Group about three weeks back and the car has had multiple issues which didn't surface during the test drive.

This car has had one previous Owner with a very low mileage on the clock.

The tank had a fair amount of fuel and so there was no need to fill up, but later found that the tank cap was a lockable one with no keys provided.

The resort was to get an "auto" locksmith and jimmy the cap open, which of course was reimbursed by the Dealership.

The next set of problems included all sorts of alarms on the dashboard, including catalytic converter, lane keeping failure, operational spanner, front Radar to check and finally the STOP alarm which was explained away as loss of vacuum due to a loose fuel cap!

After driving the car for about half a mile away all the alarms came back again and the car was promptly returned back tho the Dealership.

The car was kept back for two days and I was told that a complete "software update" has been done and all was fine now.

The car was delivered back by the Dealership driver and later on driving the car again found that the Front Radar alarm was still activating affecting active braking and I believe the adaptive cruise control.

Has anybody else had had the same issues as I and had there been any solutions to it.

Will be grateful if someone can come with any information.

Regards

AB

It would probably be wise at this point to reject the vehicle.

Looks like you’ve got a lemon here . Hopefully you’re in the 30 day right to reject under the consumer rights act . Don’t let them try to repair it .

Reject it. You've given them the opportunity to sort it, they have failed. You have every right to take it back and ask for a full refund. They have no right to decline.
