The sat nav unit on my 2016 Hyundai Tucson is not working. I've tried all the reset option without success. I originally had sound but no screen but now it's completely dead.
I assumed, naively, that it would be a relatively easy fix. Unfortunately that is not proving to be the case. I have been told the unit itself can't be fixed. A new one from Hyundai is astronomically priced. So I thought I would get a second hand unit off of Ebay. But now I understand that will be a big problem because of getting it programed to work on my car. The whole thing is turning into a right PITA.
Someone has suggested an aftermarket unit. Has anyone gone down this route with a Tucson, or any other car fir that matter. Is it a sensible option? Can they fit into the existing sat nav housing , or do they look as if they are just plonked on top?
My other concern is that I am considering changing the car over the next year or so. Would an aftermarket sat nav unit be a big no no in terms of the car's trade in value? Or would it be no big deal?
Grateful for any advice.
