Ford connect - Cutting out - john maillard

Hi All

I've recently bought a ford connect mk1 230 in great condition engine starts on the button .

It's been sat 10 months in dry storage or so I'm told anyway seller told me it went into limp mode on the way for mot wich I found to be a lie.

After a few £ I've now had it motd but it's cutting out ! Glow plug light comes on then cuts out??.

Any help appreciated regards john

Is it a Di engine or common rail diesel?

Cutting out on these is very often caused by a fault with an injector (s) . You need to remove them for testing.

Can’t see why not . Depends on your diy skills. You may need to re cut or prepare the injector seats and renew the sealing washers on re fitting. Also , once the fuel system has been disturbed, you’ll likely need a suction pump to bleed the system. There’s no in tank lift pump on these .
