Ford Transit - No Claim Bonus evidence rejected on my Camper - pebbleridge

Hi,

My old insurer (Carole Nash) have discontinued their Camper Van Insurance, so I'm forced to find a new insurer.

I'm in the CAMC so I tried their insurance provider Devitte.

I asked Carole Nash for proof on No Claims Bonus and they sent me a letter saying I had made no claims since October 2018, (six years, which is what I put on my application to Devitte). Unfortunately Devitte rejected this letter and said

(The document sent doesn’t not confirm the years of no claim bonus on the policy, please request the official no claim bonus document from Carol Nash)

I went back to Carole Nash who said that was all they could offer.

If anyone has any idea what I should do now, I would greatly appreciate it.

Regards

Pebbleridge

Do you have last year's invitation to renew with Carole Nash, which should (may) display the number of years No Claims Bonus available to you 12 months ago?

Shop around for the best price for the cover you want.

NCD is good if you're with the same company but I think we can get tunnel vision over it.

When we got a second car my OH had never had insurance in her own name so no NCD. A good broker found a policy with a base premium less some sort of starter discount that mean she paid pretty much the same as me.

Cars were a 1.9 diesel Cit BX and 1.7 diesel Pug 205 so peas in pod from a risk point of view.

EDIT: Carole Nash seems to be a broker and in same group as Swinton. What do they quote.

I'd agree here. Unless you are a young driver, it won't (or shouldn't) make a huge difference.

When I bought the wee Piaggio Porter truck I use for work, I still had my VW Caddy and so couldn't use the 10+ years NCB I had built up. Can't remember the exact figure, but full comp on the Porter with no NCB was about £300, less than what the Caddy was with all that NCB!

Unfortunately not.

It was all done by email and I've searched for "Carole Nash" but I can't find it.

I had this same problem years ago with a classic car insurance that didn't clock up no claims bonus every year, even though I never had any claims that was irrelevant when eventually taking out a policy that did use no claims bonus to calculate the price. Possibly the specialist campervan insurance was similar.

Try Comfort.

My campervan insurance is with them, and they do a policy which is isn't reliant on NCD.

Thanks, I'll give them a try.

Hi all,

Thanks for your suggestions, turns out all I needed to do was find someone at Devitte who knew what they where doing.

It took about 5 phone calls but eventually Devitte in direct discussions with Carole Nash managed to agree that I did have no claims bonus and it has now been sorted.

Thnks agaon for your offers of help

Regards,

Paul
