Any - Log book V5 error - Dave N
Planning to export a car, but noticed the log book says petrol instead of diesel. This could cause a problem when it gets reregistered at its destination. What does it take to get it changed, proof etc?

Have you contacted the DVLA? They are, possibly, the authority to give you accurate answers.

No, not yet. I’m out of the country and don’t fancy an hour on the phone, so trying to get a bit of info beforehand.

Do you have any paperwork from the manufacturer, e.g. the CoC?

Easier to do a VIN search - that will define the fuel profile for the vehicle.

I spoke with them on the chat thing. He said just make the change on the V5 and send it in. If they need proof they’ll ask for it. Not sure how I prove it has always been a diesel, and still is, but there you go.

Log book errors aren’t uncommon.

I had a 53 plate Mazda MX5 that according to the V5 had three seats!
