I will post this in the Motoring forum as it gets more visibility.

It seems the phantom post-hider is still at work, I have managed to force some of the missing ones back to public view but this irritating fault needs fixing as it's making the forum close to unusable.

It happens every now and again, I found a thread back in 2021 when Avant was moderating regarding the problem. Usually the phantom disappears but not this time.

All we can do is contact the Editor and ask their IT team to investigate and I will email him for the morning.

Its driving me mad, grrr!

I know a couple of contributors in the general discussion thread spoke of these missing posts being only on the laptop/PC, not their phones. I'm finding them missing on both :-(

Sorry no update yet. Haven't heard back from the Editor.

Likewise originally I could see the posts on my phone but now neither laptop or phone.

Sometimes the Last Post' date will not have a post assigned with it if one of us has forced a missing one back to public view but that won't be many.

Ironically there's a missing post on this thread. :(

Currently shows three posts on the homepage, but only two are visible.

I've been on this site for more years than I can remember but don't recall it being *such* an issue previously.

... yet strangely once my post was up I could then see the others - and there's more than three - the value the homepage reports.

The counter will get out of sequence because the only way we have found to force a post back to public view is to reply to it with a test or dummy post and that increments the counter. When we delete that test post the counter doesn't decrease for quite a while.

Highly likely. There's only so much time we can spend manually forcing them back to public view. Sometimes I've forced a post back to the forum only for it to disappear again later.

Hopefully someone will sort out this irritating feature this coming week as I'm fed up with it all. It makes moderating harder as we can't see all the posts unless we reply to them individually.

There is apparently a new post in Technical under "Need the radio code please" stamped 26 Aug 2024 14:42.

I cannot see this.

If a mod could make it visible I could help out the poster to regain the use of his radio.

I can't see anything new in the thread. I think the post at 14:42 was spam. The last real post was 13:47 (visible) and the 20:56 one is mine (now deleted) to try and make anything missing visible again.

The present problem with some posts going missing makes it difficult to know what's going on. But you know that.
