2000 Citroen Xsara 1.4i (manual) - Citroen Xsara - No AC - not_a_car_guy
Hello,

I’m trying to help a friend in the UK who has a 2000 Citroen Xsara 1.4i hatchback (manual transmission).

The AC is not working — he paid £100 to get it fixed — £35 for diagnostics, £65 for re-gassing. But after just a week, there’s no cold air once again. He went back and they said there's a leak and that the condenser needs to be replaced, but because the car is too old, manufacturers no longer make that condenser model.

I was able to find these two sites that supposedly have replacement condensers:

www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/condenser-10455/citroe...8
(Assuming the N1 corresponds to the right model)

alvadi.ee/en/spare-parts/citroen/xsara-n0-n1-n2-20.../

I’m not sure if either of those are legitimate. Is anyone familiar with them?

Also wondering if there are any thoughts or other suggestions in general. I did find this other thread (www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=65647) that mentions that it could also be the pollen filter or stuck heater flaps.

Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated!

Plenty of condensers on E bay from Valeo or Nrf , from around £80 .
