It is Latin America so revolutions are par for the course. Back in the 70s I just missed being in Chile when the revolution occurred. I was at the border but turned back. Just as well. Lots of people went missing and the UK embassy were unlikely to be any help seeing that the UK government was a supporter of Pinochet.
