Toyota Auris 1.8h, 2011 - Mk1 Auris dipped beams dont work, but mains do? - carnut1980

Hi all, this only started recently, dipped beams dont work, everything else does, mains, fogs, DRLs, sides...

So bulbs are fine?

Therefore can't be a fuse issue?

Maybe relay?

cheers

It could be a fuse - many cars have different fuses for dip and main - or bulbs if they're filament bulbs.

Have you checked both bulbs ?

Actually no! As i assumed that they are the same bulb, therefore power is getting to it, and perhaps its a switch, wiring or relay issue?

Think you’ll find the dip and main bulbs are separate. 4 bulbs in total.

Says dipped/main?

Yes , use for dip or main . These are only single filament, so can’t be both at the same time.

Could be just the headlight stalk. Does it feel normal and positive as you move it between high beam and dip?

Yes, same as always! No play at all. I will check bulbs and report back!

Wouldn't an Auris of this age have twin filament H4 bulbs?
