Kia Picanto - Kia Picanto 2017 (Mk2) SE Auto - Creep very slow - nixnix68

I have recently purchased a 2017 Kia Picanto (mark 2) automatic.

I find that when I try to move off in Drive the creep speed is extremely low if its there at all. I have to use the accelerator to move off. I briefly queried this with my local Kia dealer when the car was in to have a door seal fixed and they said it was a 'safety feature' for this model and year of car.

Does anyone know if this is correct?

The car idles smoothly at about 800 rpm but i have to raise the revs up to about 1000 rpm to get the car to creep properly.

Most modern cars don’t have much “creep “ , if at all . Modern technology and gearboxes . Also integrated with the stop start system. Too much creep and the car would take off once your foot is off the brake .

I suppose it depends on what you used to drive before, was it an auto?

I knew a bloke that had an auto and he had to keep one foot on the brake and the other on the throttle at lights to prevent it from stalling/roaring off. He refused to accept anything was wrong, as ' it was like that when I bought it' and assumed it was OK.

I could tell countless tales like this.
