It's a good example as to why there should be much more manufacturing done in the UK and Europe rather than constantly importing items.

And all those important little electronics from Taiwan and raw materials from all over the world. We only had the advantage when out manufacturing technology was better than rivals combined with reasonable labour rates, i.e. 100+ years ago.

The cost of living is a problem for many people nowadays but we have become inured to cheap electronics which makes for a throwaway culture when something fails.

If only we were prepared to purchase a bit more expensive to get better quality.

Mind you, car manufacturers have decided to stop stacking them high, selling them cheap!

Maybe the USA could just have its war with Iran and everyone else can get on with their lives.

Our leaders and the more equal always have an eye on their after politics futures and eyeing up the huge wealth that doing as they are told brings, we're the tail the USA and its arms industry wags.

They don't do irony, USA, with the UK following like some stray mangy dog, has laid waste to vast swathes of the middle east and north africa leaving millions dead millions more seriously injured homeless and destitute, leaving civil war style hell in their wake and a hatred of the western countries who took part which will never wane, yet Putin's dangerous and must be stopped, you couldn't make it up.

That wouldn't be a good idea, given it would make the oil shock of the early 70s look tame in comparison, and might even lead to WWIII and our destruction. Don't forget that, whatever any of may think about those in charge of the US, Iran is very near to being a nuclear state (thanks to the appeasers from the West) and has the support of both Russia and China.

Things could just as easily kick off given their current 'conflict' with neighbouring (nuclear power) Pakistan.
