There won't be any price negotiation though.

So success will depends how buyers feel that they got a good deal.

The link seems from USA as it mentioned amazon.com instead of co.uk

A significant (and I suspect increasing) number of car buyers do not take test drives, find dealers pushy and intimidating, and will no doubt welcome online purchasing.

With leased vehicles there is no issue of trade in value - simply return and sign up a new deal.

It also seems that the real world differences between different makes and models is increasingly limited. Many regard a car as a simple tool rather than a status statement or device to wring the last morsel of performance.

The only thing I like about car dealerships is the smell, and even that varies. what is consistent is pushy staff that lack knowledge of the product they are trying to sell me. I don’t care what the sales courses are teaching, if they don’t know the product then it’s a red flag for me. At least with an Amazon purchase we can avoid that.

Daewoo sold in …Halfoords… for a while didn’t they?

Edited as it created an automatic link to the halfoords website (spelling error on purpose!)

Genesis, the luxury arm of Hyundai, which sells in very small number in UK, was online order only until now.

But now they will retire Genesis as standalone entity in UK and will become part of Hyundai.

The Genesis brand will continue to be sold, both online and through a handful of retail partners.
What is changing is that the former current Genesis head office function will be incorporated into that of Hyundai.
