Just had a week in Marrakech, driving there would take some getting into. Thousands of motorbikes buzzing everywhere getting into any space available in the heavy traffic. Most of the taxis are Dacias and with the heavy traffic and tailgating etc you'd expect dings and dents everywhere but no, not at all.

The roads themselves around Marrakech are excellent, zero potholes, good surfaces and the catseyes flash at night, very pretty. I thought when we had a long road trip the roads would soon deteriorate but no, the standard was excellent except for the odd roadworks.

Sometime back I was in Ouarzazate. That was before the earthquake.

I was impressed by their road condition. While I did not drive, I felt driving would not have been difficult. Traffic was far less compared to Marrakech.

Taxis were mostly French, Chinese cars but I did see several luxury private vehicles like Audi, Jaguar, Mercedes etc.

That was our trip to Ouarzazate, I suppose there is still the taxi connection as Dacia has Renault connections. Agree out of town driving was not looking difficult but Marrakech would be a different story! Really friendly people too.
