New Hyundai Sante Fe - upmarket push continues - Random

When I think back to the original this is so far removed that it's now in a completely different sector. Good looking vehicle although not sure about the rear end.

The original Santa Fe was a 5 seat only SUV with questionable styling. The new one is still in the same sector as the 2nd gen car in 2006. Everything is getting bigger because that is what buyers want, and everything (including Dacia to a lessor degree) is being pushed upmarket because there are more profits to be had.

Personally, I think it is hideous! (the rear end, IMO, has a whiff of 1st gen Ssangyong Rodius about it)

But that type of vehicle is of no interest to me anyway.

The interior looks nice and I'm sure it's very comfy. However, it looks like a Lego landrover. Another styling masterpiece from Hyundai....

They are becoming quite nice vehicles but I could not consider a 4 cylinder. 5 is ok but anything 6 and above for me! Doubt they will offer a v6 here again.

Hyundai USA have some nice looking vehicles too. Like the Hyundai Pallisade and of course the full size Genesis G90 and sister Kia K900.

This 1 minute review shows the pallisade surprisingly thoroughly. Not for me as it is unibody but apart from that, a good effort.

Looks excellent to me. Had I not known, it would have assumed it as new Land Rover.

I actually used to quite like the Hyundais of old. They offered a/c, v6, auto, plush leather and a smooth enough ride backed by a fantastic warranty for a price unheard of before. Most of the parts were Mitsubishi derived or shared developments. Better cars than the motoring press would have had you believe.

To me, it looks like a computer-generated image of an suv.

...I rather fancied a new model Tuscon until they 'straightened' the top of the wheel-arch, so just like this Santa Fe, it's a NO from me!

I know it's a small thing in the grand scheme of things but it really grates on the (my) eye....
