BMW M135i - New car broke down less than 60 miles - Ben Love

Hi, just looking for some advice.

I bought a used car from a dealership around 200 miles from me. The vehicle was £11,000.

I bought the car blind, based on the ad. Had it collected on a recovery truck and delivered to me

Vehicle was advertised as 85,000 miles, arrived on 89,000 miles. I can live with this, bit of a joke but hey. Also arrived and has several marks which were not pictured, once again it was priced well so I can get this repaired.

However, less than 30 miles into my ownership (Arrived Saturday). The vehicle has gone into limp mode with a 'Valvetronic' fault. Having spoken to a specialist this is a fairly serious fault and the vehicle should not be driven. The fault was logged in the ECU over 1000 miles before it was delivered to me so was 100% there prior to purchase, just not showing in vehicle.

I am calling the dealership tomorrow, I need to know where I stand. I know I can reject the vehicle. However, I'd like it repaired if possible as its easier for all parties.

If the dealer decides they want to do repairs there rather than me getting it booked in locally. Who is responsible for getting the vehicle to them (as it will need to be recovered and can not be driven)

Thanks

Personally, regardless of your rights, I think you should reject it. In one day you have discovered three different issues that the dealer has concealed from you. It was cheap because it's a lemon. Get rid of it

Very likely to be timing chain issues . Don’t drive it and reject it straight away . This is an expensive repair .

Agree with the others, get rid.

Perhaps this indicates that this car has been rejected more than once, but the first ad hasn't been updated ? :-)
